Bonjour everyone, and welcome to Paris! The city of Paris also known as the city of love, is filled with so much excitement, and plenty of attractions to see. Some of the attractions include the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame de Paris, Roué de Paris, and the Louvre. While visiting Paris for the first time this past spring, I instantly fell in love with the city and the food. Even though pastries are big over in France, my favorite was the escargot. I know escargot sounds crazy, but these were in a basil pesto sauce which made them taste unbelievable! Definitely worth trying when visiting Paris.

My first favorite attraction in Paris is the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower is one of the busiest landmarks in Paris.

On the second floor of the Eiffel Tower is the 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant. This restaurant has wide open windows allowing customers to view the beautiful city from up above. The food that was served was very delicious. My favorites included the seared prawns for the appetizer, roasted chorizo stuffed chicken supreme for the main course, and the profiterole with vanilla ice cream and hot chocolate sauce for dessert. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you’re looking for a special night with your loved one, or you just want to experience something new. Unfortunately, when I booked my reservation on their website, it said the restaurant was on the top of the Eiffel Tower, but it was actually mid-way on the second floor.

After dinner was finished, it was nice to take a ride up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and be able to watch the sunset and see the whole city lit up. The view was breathtaking! Then, to make it even better, they lit up the Eiffel Tower every hour. This really made my stay in Paris so much more memorable.

Secondly, a gourmet dinner cruise on the La Marina cruise ship down the Seine River through Paris Cityvision is a perfect way to view the city at night. During the cruise, customers enjoy a gourmet meal with a bottle of wine. The seating is set up for each party to enjoy their own individual table with a view through the large windows that continue through the ceiling. After being seated at our table, we were offered a glass of champagne and given a brochure with the map of our journey with all the highlights along the way. The three course meal offered a sampling of four appetizers and desserts with a choice of four entree options that included chicken, beef, fish, and vegetarian. The food was very delicious. My favorite included the thick steak with green pepper, potato rosette, and seasonal vegetables.

Roué de Paris is a giant Ferris wheel in Paris that allows tourists to view the city of Paris from a new height. When viewers reach the top, they will be able to see the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. One of my favorite ways to view a city is by Ferris wheel, if the city has one. Riding the Ferris wheel definitely gives viewers a different perspective on the city. It allows you to truly take in the gorgeous city and the famous landmarks. As a person who loves to travel, I feel it makes you appreciate where you are and what amazing things the city has to offer.

Notre-Dame de Paris is a famous cathedral in Paris. You will also recognize the cathedral in the animated Disney movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame. When we arrived in the cathedral, there was a choir rehearsal in progress. The acoustics in the church were unbelievable. It sounded absolutely beautiful. The intricate stained glass and woodwork as well as the history of the cathedral made the visit worthwhile. There were many tombs and statues around the outer perimeter of the cathedral that documents the history. It was definitely well worth the visit.

Since France is known for their pastries, I decided to take a pastry cooking class at La Cuisine Paris. There are a variety of different pastries that can be made, but in this class we were taught how to make a Mille Feuille. A Mille Feuille is a Napoleon French pastry that can have either a vanilla or custard filling. It was the most delicious French pastry I’ve tried. You can eat them for breakfast, snack, and dessert. For anyone who visits Paris, I highly recommend taking a French cooking class at La Cuisine Paris, and trying all the French pastries you can.

Finally, the Louvre is the largest art museum in the world. It is also the busiest museum you’ll find. As you walk through the museum, you’ll find a variety of famous paintings and statues throughout the grand halls of the Louvre. In fact, the painting of the Mona Lisa was quite a sight. The room was so crowded that we couldn’t even get close to see the detail. This photo is with a zoom lens on my smartphone as I was holding the phone above everyone’s head. The museum has an abundance of history and art that it can be a bit overwhelming at times. However, this isn’t a museum that takes 2 hours to discover. It’s a museum that will take you a full day to go through. Beware of the massive crowds and try to find a time that is not so busy.
