While on my recent trip to London, I went to Her Majesty’s Theatre see the musical Phantom of the Opera. The Her Majesty’s Theatre has three beautiful levels of tiered seating with a Victorian grandeur that has great views of the stage no matter where you’re seated. The classical musical created by Andrew Lloyd Webber was so full of suspense and surprises, I was mesmerized. The musical’s first showing was in October of 1986, and has expanded around the world, while continuing to win awards throughout the years. I really enjoyed the evening! The cast did an excellent job and the opera singing was really on point. At times, I felt like I was at the edge of my seat from the powerful voices that surrounded the audience. The Phantom would show up in the most unexpected places, surprising and thrilling the patrons. It is a musical with beautiful opera music that I would recommend to all. I have also included the links to the Her Majesty’sTheatre and Phantom of the Opera musical if any of you are interested!

9BD01BC4-DC6F-4D42-A121-EF9C446D5BD8

While in London, I went to see the smash hit musical Mamma Mia at the Novello Theatre. The Novello Theatre is a beautiful theatre that has multiple levels of tiered comfortable seating with great views of the stage. The musical Mamma Mia takes place on a Greek island called Kalokairi. It is about a girl named Sophie who goes through her mother Donna’s diary and secretly invites three possible men to her wedding believing one of them might be her father. It was a very funny musical with the audience breaking out into laughter on many occasions. Everyone sang aloud to their favorite ABBA songs with the cast during the show. The musical’s first showing was in London at the Prince Edward Theatre in 1999. It has continued to grow with shows all over the world. I have always been a fan since the movie Mamma Mia came out in 2008, and am looking forward to the new Mamma Mia movie that will be released in theatres next month on July 20, 2018. The show was phenomenal! The cast did an excellent job representing each character. I would highly recommend going to see this show, and guarantee the music will stay with you for a long time. I walked out of the musical still singing my favorite songs! I loved all of the songs, but my favorites had to beI Have A Dream, Mamma Mia, Lay All Your Love On Me, Super Trouper, Voulez-Vous, Slipping Through My Fingers, and Waterloo. I have also included the links to the Novello Theatre and Mamma Mia musical if any of you are interested!

While in London, I went to see the musical Wicked at The Apollo Victoria Theatre. The musical Wicked is about a girl named Elphaba who is born with green skin and grows up to be the wicked witch of the west. In the musical, viewers will see that everyone is afraid to become her friend since she is green, yet they’ll make friends with the popular girl named Galinda who changes her name to Glinda towards the end of the show. The story centers around before the Wizard of Oz giving the audience a backstory of what happened before, during and after the Wizard of Oz. The musical first started out in 2003 and has grown tremendously doing shows all over the world both in the US and the UK. In fact, the musical has won around 100 awards. I have always been a fan of the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz and the 2013 Oz the great and Powerful which both relate to the show Wicked. The show was really amazing. The cast did an excellent job, and it is a show that I would recommend to anyone who is interested in seeing the musical. The Apollo Victoria Theatre is gorgeous both inside and out. It has multiple levels of tiered seating. I would definitely see another show at this theatre the next time I visit London. I have also included the links to the Apollo Victoria Theatre and Wicked musical if any of you are interested!

Madame Tussauds (London)

A9F1F739-2F03-4315-B12E-7D8BD4DB2639

Madame Tussauds is a wax figure museum that has over 200 life-size human wax figures. They have a variety of locations across the world from North America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. While I was visiting London, I had a chance to visit the museum. This museum does an amazing job keeping their wax figures spread out in various categories on multiple floors. I was impressed with how real these wax figures looked. They don’t even look like wax figures at all, which makes it hard for visitors to even believe that they are wax figures and not the actual celebrity. I purchased my tickets on line and booked a time slot to visit the museum. Madame Tussauds is another attraction in London that gets very busy during the afternoon and evening, so I recommend going during the morning hours. Some of the celebrity wax figures visitors will see at the museum include Benedict Cumberbatch, Victoria and David Beckham, Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Katniss Everdeen, Emma Watson, Star Wars, and Marvel characters such as Captain America, Hawkeye, Incredible Hulk, Spiderman, and Iron Man. Members of the current royal family including the late Princess Diana and Queen Mother, as well as Queen Victoria. Music stars included Michael Jackson, Adele, Britney Spears, and One Direction to name a few. I also included the link to Madame Tussauds if you are interested in checking it out: https://www.madametussauds.com/london/en/

The London Eye

Out of all the places I visited in London, the London Eye had to be my favorite. The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel that overlooks the entire city of London giving viewers an unforgettable 360-degree view experience. It is one of London’s famous attractions that is always busy no matter what time of day you go. An interesting fact about the London Eye is there is an average of 3.75 million visitors each year. Visitors can expect to wait in line for up to 1 to 1 ½ hours before boarding. The standard price visitors can expect to pay is £24.30. Instead of paying that price, I went ahead and bought a package that allows visitors to visit four other attractions besides the London Eye such as Sea Life aquarium, London dungeon, Shrek’s adventure, and Madame Tussauds for only £55. I highly recommend booking your time slot in the morning than waiting for either the afternoon or evening time slots since those seem to be much busier than the morning. Finally, one of the things I do recommend while visiting the London Eye is taking a picture of it all lit up at night. Just seeing it all lit up at night really gives viewers a different perspective of the London Eye.
