The Great Lost Bear is an American pub restaurant located in Portland, Maine on 540 Forest Ave. I’ll admit when I first looked this place up online, I became skeptical because of the way it looked on the outside, but I was truly surprised with how good everything was. The atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable and the staff is very nice and takes great care of their customers. They have a wide variety of food and over seventy beers to choose from. This can seem overwhelming if it’s your first time at this restaurant, because I know I felt overwhelmed.

When customers arrive, they will find seating in the dining room, bar, and outside patio. Inside the dining room, customers will find beautifully etched glass that separate the bar from the dining room.

The food is a reasonably priced and very delicious. We had the Peanut Thai Chicken sandwich with Coleslaw, a Cheeseburger, and a Spinach salad with feta cheese and added the marinated portabella mushrooms on top. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and for dessert we shared the Toll House Cookie Pie. Best cookie pie I’ve had. I definitely recommend trying it.
